SMALL TOWN CRIME WAVE 11.1.10

October 14th City of Brown Deer
Police were called to the Holiday Inn Express where a 38-year-old employee was caught allegedly stealing from the hotel. The woman denied the theft but two other employees said they saw her hide a roll of toilet paper in her lunch box. The woman was fired from her job and arrested. The toilet paper was valued at 35 cents.

October 22nd City of Wisconsin Rapids
Police responded to a report from an anonymous caller informing them that he had witnessed four children ripping up empty cardboard boxes.

October 15th City of Neenah
Police cited a 17-year-old Neenah girl for shoplifting after she stole a pumpkin from a drug store and fled in a car. Two customers witnessed the theft and recorded the car's license plate number for police. Surveillance video also showed the girl stealing the pumpkin. Investigating officers tracked down the girl a short time later. She had changed clothes and initially denied being at the store before admitting to the theft. The retail value of the pumpkin was...one dollar.

October 10th City of Neenah
A complainant on Lyon Drive reported that a young woman walking near an apartment complex was taking loudly to herself. Police determined the woman had earphones on and was just singing out loud.

October 28th City of Beaver Dam
A woman requested to speak to an officer regarding the theft of her hair.
