I DON'T RECOGNIZE HIS FACE BUT HIS NECK SURE "RINGS" A BELL
Packer Sam Shields has used his lock-out downtime effectively. By getting a tattoo of his Super Bowl ring on his NECK! Wouldn't it be easier to just wear the ring?

THE RING!
Yesterday, the Packers finally got their SUper Bowl rings. And here are some factoids about all the symbolism and what-have-you involved in the ring.
* The 'G' logo in the middle of the ring includes 13 diamonds, one for each of the Packers championships.
* Football-shaped diamonds dot the corner of the top of the rings, representing the 4 Super Bowl titles.
* A total of 92 diamonds surround the crest, representing the 92 years that the franchise has existed.
* On the inside of the ring, the scores of all the Packers playoff wins are included, as well as the logos of the opponents (congratulations, Eagles fans, you're on a Super Bowl ring!).
* Also on the inside is a '1' alongside the words "Mind, Goal, Purpose and Heart", a sort of mantra that the Packers used on their way to the title.
* One side features the Lombardi trophy and the player's name a number, with the number encircled as it was on the Packers throwback jerseys this year. On the other side is a rather exquisitely crafted likeness of Lambeau Field.
As for size and gaudiness, the ring checks in with 3.35 total carats of diamonds, falling just behind the 3.61 carats the Steelers crammed onto their rings for winning Super Bowl XLIII. Comparing it to other recent champions, the Saints got 2.2 carats on their XLIV rings, and the Giants, comparatively tasteful and restrained, went with 1.5 carats after XLII.

BULL SCHMITT!
Just over three years ago, Len and I approached Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt about changing a city street name to McCarthy's Way to show our support to the coach and the team as they prepared to play in the NFC championship game against the New York Giants. The mayor did so temporarily. Now at this week's Return to Titletown, His Honor unveiled his big idea. Change a street to McCarthy's Way. Sound familiar? And did he give us a mention? A tip of the hat? A nod of the head? A go f yourself? No. Nothin'! So, here's our list of....
OTHER IDEAS OF OURS GREEN BAY MAYOR JIM SCHMITT CAN TAKE.
10. Spend a million dollars of tax payer money to buy Jerry Lee Lewis' favorite Tilt-A-Whirl.
9. Raise money for city by selling permits for an annual month long FIB Hunting Season.
8. Punish anyone caught scalping Return to Titletown tickets for anything over face value by making them sit through a speech by Tom Zalaski.
7. Replace Green Bay City Council with pack of poo flinging monkeys and award a cash prize if anybody notices a change.
6. Create amusing photo op at next year's frigid Return to Titletown bash by sticking your tongue on the Lombardi Trophy. We double dog dare you.
5. Switch jobs with Clay Matthews for a week and let him show those pussies on the Ashwaubenon Village board who really gets to call the shot round these parts.
4. There is no number 4. Number 4 spent Super Bowl Sunday watching the game on he TV in his hog barn.
3. To enable more fans to participate, hold next year's Return to Titletown Celebration in someplace larger than Lambeau Field like maybe inside one of Tom Milbourn's hats.
2. Stop making the inability to organize a one man rush to a 12-hole outhouse as a requirement to work for the Green Bay Police Department.
1. Honor the player who most helped the Packers win the NFC Championship game by renaming a street Jay Cutler Boulevard.

SHOOT OUT IN DALLAS!
Way back at the start of the seasonAaron Rogers made his intentions clear.
He strode into the Chamber of Commerce luncheon back in August
In Stetson hat and cowboy gear.
He was confident and cocky!
No way that he'd back down.
On February 6th he knew where he'd be.
Yes, he knew that he was Dallas bound.
Around the NFL some scoffed and others chortled.
This kind of bravado from a young cowpoke was not allowed.
They chuckled that he would be so bold.
But hey, who's laughing now?
Come this Sunday, Aaron will ditch his bolo tie and spurs
In Green and Gold he'll be festooned.
But it couldn't be more of an old fashioned Texas gun fight,
If they held it at High Noon.
At his side our trusty gunslinger,
Will have his faithful pals.
Joined by Driver, Jennings, Jones and Nelson
For the Shootout at Jerry Jones' Corral.
He'll face off against another gunfighter.
The one they call Big Ben.
Who's only here because they dropped the charges,
Or he’d be locked up in the hoosegow doing 'bout 8 to 10.
And following the kick off,
The gunfire will be live.
As Aaron uses the rifle he has for an arm
And fires off a shot to number 85.
And the passes will rain down like bullets.
Aaron's aim is most always true.
While his opponents' gunfire will be neutralized.
Thanks to the likes of numbers 21 and 52.
And when the smoke clears at the end,
With Pittsburgh's dreams of number seven killed.
You can bury all their Terrible Towels
'neath a tombstone up there upon ole' Boot Hill.
And the folks down there in Dallas,
Will have seen a true gunslinger of some renown.
And let the word spread far and wide.
There's a new sheriff in this town!

UN-BEAR-ABLY BIG GAME!
WHY THIS GAME IS SO IMPORTANT.10. If the Packers win, Green Bay gets the Viper from Great America, if they lose we have to give them the Zippin' Pippin.
9. A Bears victory means reruns of Matlock on Channel 2 would be the most watched show in Green Bay television market on Super Bowl Sunday.
8. A Bears victory over the Packers in the NFC Championship is the final sign of the apocalypse according to the Book of Revelation.
7. If the Packers win, Wisconsin gets the George Halas Trophy instead of Illinois which is better than a lousy 42 million dollars in federal high speed rail funds any day.
6. The winning team will receive a congratulatory call from the President of the United States. The losers get a creepy text from Brett Favre.
5. A Green Bay loss would mean we'd all have to put away our Packer clothing and go back to wearing just blaze orange.
4. We no longer need a number 4. We're more than happy with our number 12.
3. Jay Cutler needs big Super Bowl payday so he can afford more eye shadow.
2. Mike McCarthy has a lovely dog and nobody wants to see it get hurt.
1. Obama plans to attend the Super Bowl if the Bears are playing and as leader of the free world he should be doing more important things like looking for his birth certificate.

CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!
REASONS BEARS ARE EXCITED TO BE FACING THE PACKERS IN THE NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.10. Jay Cutler has chance of breaking record set by former Packer Brett Favre...for most tears shed by a Quarterback.
9. Chicago players secretly love The Bears Still Suck Polka know they’ll get to hear it after getting their asses handed to them.
8. Having faced Green Bay so many times in the last 7 years, most Packer players barely even giggle anymore when the Bears' coach is introduced as "Lovie".
7. Jay Cutler excited to face Tramon Williams because he loves a man who will fight to get his hands on his balls.
6. Just glad they have to face Aaron Rogers and not some Pro-Bowl quality quarterback like Matt Ryan or Michael Vick.
5. Bears are a little light on punt returners and if this game goes like the Atlanta game, they won't even have to use them.
4. Thought Falcons would be the tougher teams because the Bears have no falcon clue.
3. Having been dead 26 years, George Halas is probably kind of stiff and his Bears getting spanked by the Packers at home in the NFC championship game should be just incentive he needs to turn over in his grave.
2. Given Brian Urlacher's history of reportedly banging Paris Hilton, he'll no doubt enjoy watching another long haired blond, this one wearing the number 52, bang the hell out of his quarterback.
1. When all is said and done, they'd just rather have their asses kicked by somebody they know.

SATURDAY NIGHT (PLAYOFF) FEVER!
We're not the only ones looking forward to Saturday night's game. Here's what some celebrities will be doing for the Packer-Falcon play-off game.CHARLIE SHEEN: Is installing a television in the closet so his hooker doesn't have to miss the game.
JULIAN ASSANGE: Will skip the game in favor of spending his time leaking the Falcon play book.
BRETT FAVRE: Will attend a tailgate party before the game where, by force of habit, he will text a picture of one of the brats to Jenn Sterger.
TIGER WOODS: Who is a big Falcon fan, will spend Saturday night Falcon some cocktail waitress.
SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE JOHN BOEHNER: Will attend the game where he will keep both teams hydrated by weeping into their water buckets.
THE OCTOMOM: Is planning to attend the game, just in case the teams need an extra tunnel to run out of.
ARIZONA SHOOTER JARED LEE LOUGHNER: Will spend Saturday night working to make his case that he is not mentally competent by watching something else because you’d have to be crazy to miss this game.
RICHARD SIMMONS: Will spend the game slathering his testicles in Wesson oil while imagining it's his balls slipping through James Jones' fingers.
TIME SAVER
THINGS MIKE MCCARTHY IS SAVING THAT TIME OUT FOR THAT HE DIDN'T USE AT THE END OF THE FIRST HALF.10. Was planning to use it to prolong a post play-off victory boink with Mrs. McCarthy.
9. May call it during a broadcast of Mike McCarthy Show when Larry McCarren starts getting too "handsy".
8. Hoping he can use it to get some sun during second half of blow out against Atlanta.
7. Is planning to use it during the off-season to take a break from co-authoring the book Time Clock Management for Dummies with Bret Bielema.
6. Wanted to save it to use getting a rabies shot just in case the decision not to use it came back to bite him in the ass.
5. Will use it at a later date when he needs time to slip out and pick up more butter for James Jones' fingers.
4. There is no Number 4. James Jones dropped it.
3. Is giving it to the Bears just in case one of their assistant coaches wants to call it an inopportune time.
2. Is saving it in case they make it to the Super Bowl, so he has time to call Brett Favre and say "na na na na na".
1. Is planning to sell it on the black market to some other NFL coach who actually knows how to use it.

PACK-ING HEAT!
Green Bay police are looking into who fired two bullet holes into the glass Atrium at Lambeau Field this week. In an effort to help police, we assembled...THE TOP 10 REASONS SOMEONE TOOK SHOTS AT LAMBEAU FIELD
10. After re-watching Packers play off loss to Arizona, someone decided that Lambeau should have at least a fraction of the number of holes as the team's defense.
9. Even after 6 years, some people still upset about 4th and 26.
8. Shots fired by Mason Crosby in a effort to prove that he can hit something, even if it took a structure a thousand times bigger than the broadside of a barn to do so.
7. Johnny Jolly's dealer just sending a message.
6. Atrium fired the shots it's self in effort to end it all rather than spend another season serving as venue for FOX 11's god-awful post game show with Drew Smith and Johnny Gray.
5. Those aren't bullet holes. Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger visited town and penetrated the Atrium against it's will.
4. Shots fired by Packer receivers coach in effort to attract Plaxico Burress to the team once he's paroled.
3. "Half percent sales tax, my ass!"
2. Shot at window after mishearing a discussion about the Packer GM and didn't want Ted Thompson to be the only "glass hole" at Lambeau.
1. Damn, that Favre holds a grudge!
